Culture of Cherry Blossom

A lot of cherry trees are planted all over Japan, however, it used to be a wild plant long time ago. Nobles prefer a culture that enjoy looking at cherry trees in the Heian era and they became to transplant the cherry trees to urban area. Not only nobles but also it spreads widely to common people and Yoshino cherry tree widespread in the Edo era, so Japan got the cherry blossom viewing culture. It’s said that cherry blossoms bloom spectacularly but only for a short time so it matches Japanese feeling. It’s about two weeks for the best view of Yoshino cherry tree.
