日本での副業禁止について

About Side Job Prohibition in Japan

It is forbidden by law for civil servant to have side jobs in Japan.

Although it is not forbidden for private enterprises, many of them prohibit it by company employment rules.

The reasons are they do not want to be deprived of their excellent talent by others, the core business goes to neglect, etc.

There is a case where if a side job is found out, you are fired.

Generally many people need side jobs because of non-rising salaries and some people do side jobs for hobbies or to gain stimulation.

If income from side jobs exceeds 200,000 yen per year, it’s necessary to file a final tax return.
