Escalator Manners

When we take the escalator in Japan, there is a custom that one side stays filled and the other side remains open.

The sight is seen always especially at a particular location such as a station and commercial facilities where there is congestion.

People who are in a hurry continue to walk on the side for the space.

This is an idea that was considered trying to avoid trouble at the station with congestion, and has been common.

However, we have seen troubles that walking people hit the people on the escalator accidentally and then fall.

The voice has been raised to get open the one side.
