天然記念物「トキ」

Special Natural Monument “Toki”

A bird called “Toki”(Japanese crested ibis) is designated as a protected species in Japan.

Although natural monuments of organisms are taken care of carefully under the protection, one baby bird of wild Toki was confirmed to leave nest in June this year.

9 baby birds were born in April the first time in 40 years, but 3 birds died.

The remaining 6 birds grow safely and all of them have fledged.

Then, the grown up baby birds have been seen, so we expect what happens again beyond next year continually.
