Liquor-Making On The Roof

A liquor company in Ginza, Tokyo is growing rice and vegetables on their roof surprisingly.

Rice seedlings were planted in planters in 2007 to grow successfully, and it became a full-fledged rice field in 2008.

They invite elementary school students in the vicinity for rice planting and reaping. The children have a fun farming experience.

Then the grown rice is brewed and is sold as liquor from 2012.

Since the rice is only grown on the roof, it cannot be mass-produced, but it seems to have a good reputation and delicious Sake.
