Edible Silk

Kyoto evokes an image of Geishas and Maiko wearing a silk kimono.

Although silk is a material which is mainly used in fashion, there is a study group that developed “edible silk” in Kyoto.

They make products like chocolate and tofu using powdered silk called “Silk Powder”.

The component “peptide” which is included in the silk has an effect of lowering blood pressure.

Their products are for people who suffer from high blood pressure.

Silk has been attracting attention for being a healthy food.
