Japanese Currency “5 Yen Coin”

There is a 5-yen coin in Japan.
It’s a gold coin made of copper and zinc and there is a round hole in the middle.

5 yen is the same pronunciation as Goen (which means the chance to meet good people), it brings good luck if you use it for a small monetary offering at a shrine.

Usually only one 5-yen coin is enough, but using two coins means you will meet good people over and over again, and as for three coins, it makes 15 yen and means that there is a bigger chance to meet good people.

Therefore some people care about the number of 5 yens and how many they use.

Such as the old ones where there was a bug in the manufacturing process, or there was also rare 5 yen coins, so it has been sold and bought at 15,000 yen, when in high price.
