ちらし寿司

Chirashi-Sushi

When it comes to “Sushi” overseas, it seems to exude images of finger sushi, however, “Chirashi-Sushi” always lines up on the table in Japan.

Some people make it themselves mixing with seasoning, or it’s easy if you use “Chirashi sushi seasoning mix” which is sold in a supermarket.
It’s only mixed with the Chirashi-sushi seasoning with cooked rice.

Arrange it on a dish, then put a kinshi-tamago(shredded egg crepes) , sashimi, etc. on the top.

It is often cooked on a special event such as girl’s celebration or “Doll’s festival”, birthday, Field day. etc.

海外では「寿司」というと一貫ずつ握られた、
握り寿司のイメージが強いと思われますが、
日本の食卓には「ちらし寿司」が普段から並びます。
自分で調味料を混ぜて作る人もいますし、
スーパーで売られている「ちらし寿司のもと」を使えば
簡単に作れます。
炊いたご飯にちらし寿司のもとを混ぜるだけです。
お皿に盛り付け、焼いた卵や刺身などをのせます。
女の子のお祭りである「ひな祭り」や誕生日、運動会など、
特別な行事がある時によく作られます。
