Gift for a Visit

There is a custom to bring a gift wrapped properly when invited to a house in Japan when visiting for some reason. It is often bought at Japanese sweets shops and cake shops. Put the gift item in a box and ask for one of the staff to wrap it.
People say “This is worthless” when hand it, however, it’s actually not. It’s a Japanese sweet made by a well-established company and others. Since Japan has a custom to humble themselves.
