There are various types as typical one in Japan called “Makunouchi Bento”, others contains the local special food, has quite unique food and so on, so passengers have fun to pick from them.

Sometimes people are asked by their family to buy some to take home for their family.
For example, “Takekago-Bento” (Lunch box in the bamboo basket) sold in Kyoto, is 1000 yen and you can enjoy Kyoto style Japanese cuisine. Grilled fish, refined seasoning simmered vegetables, Nama-fu(made from wheat gluten), etc are served in the bamboo basket.
