Kinki University in Osaka successfully completed their research about full-life cycle aquaculture of tuna. It’s difficult to farm tuna, however, they continue to work tenaciously and have a plan to increase the quantity of production in the future.
Since the amount of tuna caught is declining, people are worrying that they will not be able to eat raw tuna any more, however, thanks to the “Kindai Tuna”, (named after Kinki University’s nickname) it is not necessary to worry.
There is a restaurant in a commercial facility called “GRAND FRONT OSAKA” where they serve Kindai Tuna and is very popular. Their second restaurant has been opened in Ginza,Tokyo. They have plans to export the Kindai tuna to North America and other Asian countries in the future.
